Nigeria coach Samson Siasia has handed a late invitation to Inter Milan midfielder Joel Obi for Wednesday's friendly against Sierra Leone in Lagos. Uncapped Obi, 19, will take the place of injured Heartland of Owerri midfielder Ikechukwu Ibenegbu.
Nigeria have already called up Everton striker Victor Anichebe to replace another injury-hit player, Shola Ameobi, who suffered a cheekbone injury in a recent English Premier League game for Newcastle.
The Super Eagles tackle Sierra Leone on Wednesday after a proposed game against Guatemala in the United States fell through. Both Nigeria and Sierra Leone hope to use this friendly to prepare for next month's 2012 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Nigeria are grouped with Guinea, Madagascar and Ethiopia, while the Leone Stars battle Egypt, South Africa and Niger for a ticket to the Nations Cup, which will be hosted by Gabon and Equatorial Guinea next year.
