Brisbane Roar defender Luke De Vere on Friday became the third Australian A-League player to join a Korea Republic club this week.
Former Australian youth skipper De Vere will play his farewell match next week against Wellington Phoenix after confirming he would be leaving table-topping Roar for Korean K-League side Gyeongnam FC in a three-year deal.
"At the end of the day, it's tough to leave the Roar, especially at this point in the season but at the same time, it's a good opportunity for me I feel," De Vere said. "We've had a great season and if the team goes on to win the league, it will be great and would have been nice to stay and be a part of but this is a great opportunity for me and one I want to take up."
De Vere joins Adelaide United defender Iain Fyfe and Gold Coast United's Dutch defender Bas van den Brink, who have both joined Busan I'Park over the past week.
