Sydney FC kept their A-League play-off hopes alive with a 2-0 win over Gold Coast United at Sydney Football Stadium.
Dimitri Petratos opened the scoring just after the half-hour mark when he latched onto Hiro Moriyasu's beautiful pass and fired past goalkeeper Glenn Moss.
The visitors were reduced to ten men midway through the second period when Steve Fitzsimmons was sent off for a challenge on Moriyasu, before Finn Juho Makela wrapped up the points in injury time with a close-range finish.
Elsewhere, Newcastle Jets closed in on the top six with a 3-1 win at bottom side North Queensland Fury.
Ruben Zadkovich's free-kick put the visitors in front after 12 minutes at Dairy Farmers Stadium and Labinot Haliti doubled the advantage just three minutes later when he capitalised on some slack Fury defending.
Ryan Griffiths added the third with 20 minutes to go before Mark Hughes netted a consolation goal from the spot in injury time after Panagiotis Nikas was brought down in the box.
