Australia were held to a goalless draw by United Arab Emirates in the teams' final Asian Cup warm-up match at Khalifa bin Zayed Stadium today.

The Socceroos were the better side in the first half in Abu Dhabi but could not find the breakthrough.

The hosts raised their game after the break and could have nicked the win eight minutes from time, but Australia substitute goalkeeper Nathan Coe kept out a Subait Khater free-kick and then Fares Juma's shot hit the left post.

UAE have been drawn in Asian Cup Group D along with Korea DPR, Iraq and Iran, while Australia will contest Group C with Korea Republic, Bahrain and India.
