Striker Danny Allsopp will return to two-time Australian A-League champions Melbourne Victory early next month.
Allsopp, 32, who starred with Victory before leaving for overseas deals in Qatar and the United States 16 months ago, has signed through until the end of the 2012/13 A-League season.
Allsopp is the fourth highest goalscorer in the competition's history and was a championship winner with the Victory in 2006/07.
"I was pretty desperate to come back - I'm from Melbourne, and Melbourne Victory is the club I'm so passionate about," Allsopp told reporters. "There was (interest from other A-League clubs) but I really wanted to work something out with Melbourne Victory. I didn't have to think too much about it."
Victory coach Ernie Merrick said Allsopp's return match was likely to be the away clash with Wellington Phoenix on 5 January once his international clearance was finalised.
