Van Gaal: Robben raring to go

Bayern Munich coach Louis van Gaal is counting on Dutch star Arjen Robben to return to action in the first Bundesliga game after the winter break. Bayern's first fixture in 2011 takes place against Wolfsburg on 15 January.

The Dutchman has not played since returning from the 2010 FIFA World Cup™ in South Africa with a torn hamstring.

He's (Robben) very impatient to play, it's normal after six months out, but he has to wait until January 15th.

"He's very good in training and he feels absolutely no pain," said van Gaal.

"He's very impatient to play, it's normal after six months out, but he has to wait until January 15th."

Robben will feature in a friendly against a German regional side on 12 January and if the Dutch star holds up, he is expected to play for some 30 minutes against Wolfsburg.

But van Gaal ruled out the 26-year-old playing during Wednesday's German Cup tie against Stuttgart.

"If I do that I think that Dr. Muller-Wohlfahrt would have a heart attack," joked the Dutch coach.
