Besiktas, Kasimpasa stumble further

Already well off the pace in the title race, Besiktas were held to a 1-1 draw at home by Gaziantepspor in the Super Lig on Sunday.

Besiktas fell 1-0 behind early into the second-half when Olcan Adin scored for the visitors. However they recovered to earn a draw when Ali Kucik netted an equaliser five minutes later.

Another heavyweight of the Turkish game, Galatasaray, have failed to mount a challenge for league honours this season. They had too much quality for struggling Konyaspor though, registering a 1-0 away win thanks to Anil Dilaver's 81st-minute goal. Konyaspor's Ali Dere and Galatasaray's Lorik Cana were both sent off in the 90th minute.

Bottom-of-the-table Kasimpasa slumped to their 11th defeat in 17 league outings this season, crashing 2-0 at home to Eskisehirspor, whose goals came from Batuhan Karadeniz and substitute Umit Karan.

Elsewhere, Carlos Kahe's 50th-minute effort earned Manisaspor a 1-0 victory over Istanbul Buyuksehir.
