Brazilian Cassio has extended his stay at Australian A-League side Adelaide United after signing a new two-year deal with the club, officials said on Thursday.
Cassio's contract was set to expire at the end of the current season and the in-form left back rejected offers from other clubs and instead decided to stay in Adelaide until 2013.
"I feel very good and very happy with this deal. My decision wasn't so hard because since I arrived here I have felt at home," Cassio, 30, said.
Cassio said he would focus on his football now that contract negotiations were out of the way. "I was nearly going crazy in the last two or three weeks because there were agents calling me from everywhere and now that it is all sorted out, it makes me feel happy and this is what I want," Cassio said.
The Brazilian with a lethal left foot shot has scored six goals in 68 A-League appearances since joining the Reds in June 2007.
