Austrian top-flight strugglers Linz have announced they have removed Toni Polster from his role as their reserve-team coach.

Linz, who are currently bottom of the table, said it was due to a "reorganisation of the sporting sector".

Polster will, however, continue in his role as a consultant on marketing matters.

The former striker, who scored a record 44 goals for Austria, had been in the post since signing an 18-month contract with Linz in January, having passed his coaching exams in August 2008.
