A Michael Petkovic own goal handed Central Coast Mariners a 2-2 draw with Melbourne Victory in A-League action at AAMI Park today.
Daniel McBreen had given the Mariners the lead just before the half hour when he drilled a low shot below goalkeeper Petkovic.
As the game wore on Victory became more and more dominant before finally equalising when Roddy Vargas ran on to flick the ball home from Adrian Leijer's initial effort.
Less than two minutes later they were in front when Carlos Hernandez powered home an unstoppable shot from just outside the area.
It looked as though that was how the game would end with the Mariners offering little in attack but Grant Brebner's attempted clearance struck the foot of Petkovic and looped into the net to ensure they left with a point.
The draw means the Mariners remain in third place while Victory are fifth.
