Racing draw at River, Banfield beat Quilmes

River Plate had to settle for a point for the fifth Apertura match in a row, coming from behind to draw 1-1 with Racing Club at the Estadio Monumental.

The Buenos Aires giants fell behind to Giovanni Moreno's 34th-minute goal, but equalised a minute into the second period through Diego Buonanotte.

The result left River in eighth, a point above Racing, who climbed above Lanus due to the latter's 2-1 loss at home to Colon.

Joaquin Larrivey put the visitors ahead in the 39th minute and Damian Diaz added a second five minutes into the second half, before Lanus halved the deficit through Silvio Romero on 66 minutes.

Argentinos Juniors moved within a point of All Boys as they beat them 1-0 thanks to an 81st-minute Franco Niell goal, while Quilmes remain bottom without a win to their name following a 2-0 home defeat by Banfield, who rest fifth and lead a clutch of teams on 18 points.
