Tigres thumped struggling Tecos 5-0 in the Mexican Apertura. Juninho opened the scoring in the 15th minute and Itamar made it two three minutes later. Lucas Lobos added a third shortly before the half-hour mark, and second-half strikes from Itamar again and Damian Alvarez completed the rout.
Jaguares claimed a 2-0 win at home to Atlante. Jorge Rodriguez put the hosts ahead in the 37th minute and Danilinho made the points safe nine minutes from time.
Queretaro fought back to draw 2-2 at home to Guadalajara, Hector Altamirano with the equaliser from the penalty spot in the 83rd minute. Emilio Lopez put the hosts in front in the 57th minute before goals from Jesus Sanchez and Marco Fabian turned the game around.
Chivas's hopes were dealt a blow, though, by the 78th-minute sending off of Edgar Mejia and they could not hold on.
Second-bottom Atlas won for just the second time this season, 2-1 over San Luis. Gerardo Espinoza scored the winner with a 90th-minute penalty after Sergio Ponce had cancelled out Alfredo Moreno's opener for Atlas.
Pachuca came from behind to win 3-2 at home to Pumas. Dante Lopez put the visitors in front before goals from Leobardo Lopez, Dario Cvitanich and Victor Manon put Pachuca in control. Juan Carlos Cacho pulled one back in the 90th minute for Pumas but it was too little, too late.
