The 28-year-old, who is set to face Eintracht Frankfurt, injured his right knee at the start of the year which forced him out of the FIFA World Cup™ and he made his last Bundesliga appearance on 24 January.
Leverkusen coach Jupp Heynckes said he expects to give Rolfes some match time against Frankfurt, but will ease the 21-time capped midfielder back into action.
"He is still not yet the Simon Rolfes we know. He will play perhaps a half," said Heynckes today.
"He is an important member of our team and I am very happy to get him back."
Heynckes has already been denied the services of Germany captain Michael Ballack and striker Stefan Kiessling after the pair picked up knee and ankle injuries respectively in recent weeks.
