Jordan impress in win over Iraq

Jordan completed a surprisingly comfortable 4-1 victory over Asian champions Iraq in a friendly international at the Amman international stadium.

The game marked the retirement of former Jordan skipper Faisal Ibrahim and doubled as preparations for the forthcoming WAFF Championship and the 2011 AFC Asian Cup finals in Qatar.

The home took the lead after only six minutes through Ahmad Abdelhaleem before Jordan striker Abdullah Deeb doubled their advantage after 19 minutes.

Iraq pulled a goal back after 59 minutes through Nashat Akram but Jordan scored their third goal when Hassouneh Al Sheikh was on target 10 minutes later. Amer Deeb then completed a comfortable night for the Jordanians with 73 minutes played.
