Paraguay's teenage striker Federico Santander has joined Ligue 1 leaders Toulouse on a season-long loan from Club Guarani d'Asuncion with an option to make the deal permanent.

The 19-year-old youth international had been targetted by several European clubs and had a trial at Italian champions and UEFA Champions League holders Inter Milan.

The addition of Santander confirms Toulouse's commitment to bringing in young blood as he joins newly-recruited Lyon striker Yannis Tafer, 19, and Uruguayan defender Adrian Gunino, 21.

Toulouse have made a stunning start to the season winning all four of their league matches and are four points clear at the top of the table.
