Quaresma replaces Ronaldo for Portugal

Besiktas striker Ricardo Quaresma has been called in to replace Cristiano Ronaldo for Euro 2012 qualifiers against Cyprus and Norway, the Portuguese football federation (FPF) announced on Monday.

Ronaldo took a knock to his right ankle in Real Madrid's 0-0 draw at Real Mallorca on Sunday and will be out of action for up to three weeks.

He underwent an MRI scan on Monday morning that revealed "a contusion on his right ankle," his club revealed in a statement. Portugal play Cyprus on Friday and Norway four days later.
