Greece internationals Angelos Charisteas and Angelos Basinas have been snapped up by French first division new boys Arles-Avignon on two-year deals.
Basinas, a 34-year-old holding midfielder, spent last season at English side Portsmouth, who were relegated from the Premier League.
Charisteas, 30, who scored the winning goal for Greece in their shock defeat of hosts Portugal in the 2004 UEFA European Championship arrives from German club Nuremberg.
Basinas was also a member of the Greek side that tasted success in Portugal.
"I don't know the French championship but I've played in England and in Spain and I've experienced a situation like Arles-Avignon's at Mallorca," said Basinas. "I'm coming to help and do everything for my team."
Arles-Avignon were promoted from Ligue 2 after finishing third last season, having played in France's fifth tier as recently as 2006.
