Malmo missed the chance to cut the gap on Allsvenska leaders Helsingborg as they lost 2-0 at struggling AIK today. Kenny Pavey put AIK ahead from the penalty spot after only two minutes and Antonio Flavio doubled their advantage five minutes before the break.
Malmo's misery was complete when Edward Ofere was sent off 15 minutes from time. The defeat leaves Malmo five points adrift of Helsingborg, who have a game in hand but do not play this weekend, with their next match at Hacken on Thursday night.
AIK have moved three points clear of the bottom of the table with their unexpected win. Goals from Tobias Hysen, Gustav Svensson and Ragnar Sigurdsson saw Goteborg cruise to a 3-0 win over Halmstads, while Mjallby and Brommapojkarna shared the points from a goalless draw.
