Werder Bremen have completed the signing of Marko Arnautovic from Dutch champions FC Twente. The 21-year-old spent last season on loan with Inter Milan but failed to impress the treble winners during his stay. With Inter opting not to sign Arnautovic permanently, Bremen have swooped to land the Austria international for an undisclosed fee.
"We are delighted to have reached an agreement in our negotiations with Twente," said Bremen's director of sport Klaus Allofs. "Marko Arnautovic has a lot of potential. We expect him to play a major role in our team."
Arnautovic has signed a four-year contract with the northern Germany club and will link up with his new team-mates at the start of pre-season training on 5 July. The Viennese striker said: "Werder is renowned for its successful work with young players. I can see a great chance to take the next step in my career here. I cannot wait for training to start in a month."
Arnautovic played 44 times for Twente, but was used only three times by Inter coach Jose Mourinho last season.
