Dempo SC put one hand on a fourth I-League title today after beating Air India 2-0.

Joaquim Abranches opened the scoring three minutes after the hour mark before Ranty Martins doubled the home side's advantage from the penalty spot four minutes later with his 14th goal of the season.

After recording a 15th win of the campaign Dempo have two games remaining in the season and can only be caught by third-placed Churchill Brothers.

Churchill Brothers have three games in hand, the backlog caused by the defence of their AFC Cup, but a 15-point deficit to make up.

Dempo could be handed the title should Churchill Brothers fail to beat Mohun Bagan at home on Friday.
