Malmo took over as leaders in the early stages of this season's Allsvenskan as Robert Ahman-Persson scored twice in a 3-1 win over Gefle.
Ahman-Persson scored after 11 and 58 minutes to hand the visitors a comfortable lead, which was extended by Daniel Andersson in the 62nd minute before Alexander Gerndt netted a consolation goal with 12 minutes remaining.
For Malmo it was a second win in three games so far, and took their tally to seven points, moving them ahead of BK Hacken and Helsingborg, who have each won their opening two matches and have a game in hand on the leaders.
Halmstad won for the first time this campaign, after a defeat and a draw in their opening two matches, thrashing newly-promoted Atvidaberg 4-0. Goals came from Anel Raskaj, Emil Salomonsson, Alexander Prent and Johnny Lundberg.
