Gervinho sidelined for up to six weeks

Lille and Côte d'Ivoire forward Gervinho will be out for between four and six weeks with a left knee injury, his French club announced on Tuesday.

The 22-year-old attacker was forced off in the 38th minute of his side's 2-1 league victory at Rennes on Sunday after damaging ligaments.

Gervinho is the third highest scorer in the French top flight this season and a key player for the  Côte d'Ivoire national team, who will play at this summer's FIFA World Cup in South Africa.

Lille are currently third in France's first division and will take a 2-1 aggregate lead into the away leg of their Europa League round-of-32 tie with Turkish side Fenerbahce on Thursday.
