Four-time J-League champions Kashima Antlers have signed midfielder Danilo and two other Brazilian players.

The 27-year-old Danilo, whose complete name is Danilo Gabriel de Andrade, signed an 11-month contract starting from February 2 after playing for Goias EC and Sao Paulo in the previous six years.

"It will be a new experience for me to play in Japan. I've heard from other Brazilian players that Kashima are a strong team. I feel honoured to play for this team," said Danilo.

Defender Fabao, whose full name is Jose Fabio Alves Azevedo, and forward Marquinhos, Marcos Gomes De Araujo, have also signed contracts until January 1 next year, the officials said.

Fabao was chosen for the best 11 in the Brazilian league last season, while Marquinhos has scored 50 goals in 110 games for Verdy Tokyo, Yokohama Marinos, JEF United Chiba and Shimizu S-Pulse in the J-League.

"It's great honour to play for Kashima Antlers for any Brazilian players. It's the club many top players, including Zico, played for. I'm ready to help the team win back the title," said Fabao, 30.

"It's been my dream to play for Kashima Antlers. It's a team capable of winning the title. Hopefully, I can help the team win the title," said Marquinhos, also 30.
