Burnley manager Owen Coyle has made his third signing of the summer by securing the services of defender David Edgar.
The 22-year-old Canadian has agreed a four-year deal with the newly-promoted Premier League side.
Because of his age, Burnley are now in the process of trying to agree a fee with Newcastle United, with whom his contract expired yesterday.
Edgar made seven starts for the Magpies last season as they were relegated to The Championship.
He follows forward Steven Fletcher and right-back Tyrone Mears to Turf Moor, as Burnley prepare for their first top-flight campaign in 33 years.
