UEFA Champions League finalists Barcelona will face David Beckham's Los Angeles Galaxy as part of a North American tour announced today.
Barca will play three games, with fixtures confirmed against the Galaxy on 1 August and the Seattle Sounders on 5 August. A third opponent, also expected to be a West Coast club, will be named later. Beckham, who is on loan at AC Milan, is due to return to the Galaxy in July and will be available for the game.
By the time they arrive in the US, Barcelona could have added a Primera Division title and a Champions League crown to their collection. They sit top of the Spanish league, seven points clear of Real Madrid with four games left, and will face Manchester United in the Champions League final on 27 May after dramatically edging out Chelsea on Wednesday.
FC Barcelona president Joan Laporta said: "After a season in which we've played great soccer, and based on our unforgettable experiences in past tours, we at FC Barcelona are excited to take our great players and performances to our fans in the United States once again."
The tour builds on a strong relationship between Barcelona and Major League Soccer, with the two in the second year of a five-year partnership. Barcelona were behind a bid to launch a new franchise in Miami earlier this year but then pulled out before the final decision was made.
