Brazil striker set for Belgium debut

Belgium-based Brazil striker Igor De Camargo has switched nationalities and is set to make his debut for his adopted homeland in a friendly next month.

De Camargo, who arrived in Belgium in 2000, will earn his first cap for Belgium against Slovenia on 11 February, his club Standard Liege's website reported Wednesday.

The 25-year-old forward, born in Porto Feliz, has had stints with Belgian league sides Genk, Beringen, FC Brussels before linking up with current champions Standard Liege in 2005.

De Camargo, who speaks fluent French and Dutch, said: "I will try to be as successful at integrating among the national team as I have in integrating in this country. It shouldn't be a problem as I feel the way I've adapted here has been great."
