Australian striker Nikita Rukavytsya has signed for Dutch side Twente after being released by A-League outfit Perth Glory.
Ukraine-born Rukavytsya, 21, represented Australia in the U-23s side at the Beijing Olympic Games, and trialled with Twente earlier this month. His home team, Perth Glory, said Rukavytsya's "exhilarating pace and deadly shot" wowed Dutch selectors, and they were sorry to see him go.
"Nikita is an exceptionally talented young player and expressed a strong desire to play in Holland and we have worked diligently to help facilitate that opportunity for him," said Glory CEO Scott Gooch, announcing Rukavytsya's release from the club.
The left-footed striker left Perth with 16 goals in 42 games, and will immediately take his place on the pitch with the Twente, who are ranked third in the Dutch Eredivisie.
