Sasa Papac will be free to play for Rangers against Aberdeen on Saturday after referee William Collum admitted he should not have been sent off against Falkirk at the weekend.
After watching a video of the challenge which led to the Bosnian defender's red card, Collum accepted the player had not been guilty of serious foul play.
A review panel will now decide whether to downgrade the red card to a booking or completely expunge the offence from Papac's record.
Aberdeen rose to third in the Scottish Premier League table after beating Celtic 4-2 on Sunday. That defeat has left Celtic just two points clear of Rangers at the top and raised the stakes involved in Rangers' trip to Pittodrie this Saturday.
