African champions Al-Ahly moved to the top of the Egyptian league table for the first time this season with a 1-0 win over fifth-placed Harras al-Hodoud on Monday.

Ahmed Belal had a goal disallowed for offside after 26 minutes only for fellow Ahly striker Flavio Amado to head the winner before half-time off a Moetaz Eno cross.

Victory lifted the six-time African champions to 32 points, two more than surprise pacesetters Petrojet with a match in hand against struggling police team Al-Gaish.
