Thierry Henry led the way as the ten-man New York Red Bulls claimed a 2-1 victory over the Philadelphia Union in the MLS Eastern Conference on Wednesday.

The former France striker handed his side the lead as the match approached the hour mark and Lloyd Sam doubled their advantage 10 minutes later before Ibrahim Sekagya saw red for New York after 78 minutes.

Sebastien Le Toux pulled one back with a penalty for Philidelphia with 10 minutes left but could not make their extra man count.

The win moves the Red Bulls up three places into sixth in the standings with seven points, while their opponents remain in fourth with the same number of points from their first seven matches.
