Al Ahli of Dubai have been crowned Gulf League champions after a 2-1 win over Al Wasl on Thursday night.
Ricardo Oliveira fired Al Wasl ahead after just seven minutes but two second-half goals in four minutes from Ahmed Khalil and Grafite were enough to hand Ahli their sixth title.
Second-placed Al Shabab are now 15 points back with just four games remaining.
At the other end of the table, Al Sha'ab's relegation was confirmed as they crashed to a 5-0 defeat against Al Ain. Asamoah Gyan bagged a hat-trick with Mohammed Abdulrahman and Ryan Yaslam scoring the other goals.
In the day's other game, Al Emirates were 3-2 winners over Al Jazira. Sultan Bargash put Al Jazira ahead but Khaled Shamareik, Jamal Ebrahim and Luiz Henrique responded before Abdelaziz Barrada set up a tense finish.
