Lemerre takes Etoile du Sahel job

Former France coach Roger Lemerre has been named as coach of Etoile du Sahel, the Tunisian side announced on their official website.

Etoile said that Lemerre, who coached France to victory at UEFA EURO 2000 after working as assistant to Aime Jacquet when Les Bleus won the 1998 FIFA World Cup France™, had signed a six-month deal.

Lemerre knows Tunisia well, having taken charge of the national team for six years from 2002 to 2008.

He led the Carthage Eagles to glory at the 2004 African Cup of Nations on home soil and took them to the 2006 World Cup finals.
