Basel extend lead, Young Boys go third

Basel re-established their seven-point advantage at the top of the Super League as they claimed a 2-1 win at Grasshoppers.

Marco Streller put the league leaders ahead two minutes before the break, but they were pegged back in the 65th minute by Nzuzi Bundebele.

Alexander Frei again proved the match-winner as he netted nine minutes from time, putting seven points between Basel and Zurich, who won yesterday.

Young Boys went third as they beat Lucerne 3-1 to leapfrog their opponents.

Defender Alain Nef was the unlikely hero with his double, coming either side of a reply from Nico Siegrist, setting Young Boys on their way. Alexander Farnerud bagged a third after 58 minutes.

In the day's other game, Aleksandar Prijovic scored the only goal in Sion's 1-0 win over Thun.
