BK Hacken moved up to second place in the Allsvenskan with a 4-2 victory over Mjallby AIF this evening.

Hacken, who trail newly-promoted Atvidabergs FF by two points, took a 2-0 lead thanks to Rene Makondele's 26th-minute penalty and Tom Soderberg's 43rd-minute effort.

Mjallby hit back a minute later through Par Eriksson, but the hosts - who are now two from two at home in the early stages of the campaign - restored their two-goal cushion through Abdul Waris' 57th-minute effort. Dominique Kivuvu cut the lead to 3-2 (70), but Waris' second seven minutes later wrapped up the win.

Elfsborg, who finished third last season, occupy the same position in the early 2012 table too, following a 2-0 win over IFK Norrkoping. Lasse Nilsson (42) and Viktor Claesson (56) secured the win for Elfsborg, who moved above their opponents on goal difference.

AIK are a point further back after Hjalmar Jonsson's 90th-minute goal for IFK Gothenburg denied them a home win. AIK moved in front in the 68th minute through substitute Pontus Engblom.

In the night's other match, GIF Sundsvall secured their first win of the campaign in convincing style by hammering Syrianska 4-0 at home.

Kevin Walker put Sundsvall in front in the eighth minute and the lead was three by half-time after further goals from Fredrik Holster (38) and Pa Amat Dibba (45). Dibba added a fourth with 16 minutes left.
