Barcelona midfielder Xavi is set to join Qatari side Al-Arabi, according to reports in Spain.
The 34-year-old playmaker is understood to have signed a pre-contract with the club, and if the move goes ahead, the Spain midfielder will become the third Barca captain to quit the Nou Camp in the summer, following in the footsteps of Victor Valdes and Carles Puyol.
Al-Arabi manager Dan Petrescu said in Marca: "Xavi has signed a pre-contract with us. Other clubs were interested in him, but our offer has convinced him. I've spoken to him personally on the phone."
Xavi is the most decorated player in Barcelona's history, having won two FIFA Club World Cups, three UEFA Champions League titles, two UEFA European Super Cups, seven Spanish Primera Divisions, two Copa del Rey titles and six Supercopas.
