Barcelona left-back Jordi Alba has been ruled out for another six weeks after suffering a muscular injury on Thursday.
The Spain international has been sidelined for the past three weeks due to a right hamstring problem and was thought to be nearing a return to action.
However, he will now miss Barça's first meeting with Real Madrid this season on 26 October, as well as the two UEFA Champions League games against AC Milan.
"During training on Thursday, Jordi Alba suffered a muscular injury in the front part of his left leg," said a statement on the club's website.
"The club's medical services have informed that the defender will be out for around six weeks."
