Tito Vilanova is set to be on the bench when Barcelona resume their pursuit of the Primera Division title tomorrow against Espanyol, assistant coach Jordi Roura has revealed.
Coach Vilanova last month underwent surgery on his parotid gland as he started treatment for cancer for a second time.
The 44-year-old first had a tumour removed from his throat in late 2011 and he is also undergoing chemotherapy.
The season resumed in Spain this weekend following a fortnight break with Barça hosting Espanyol as they look to increase their lead at the top of the table.
Roura told reporters: "Tito is on the bench. He still has treatment to do, but he is very animated and very strong, and this is important."
