Over the course of over 14 goal-laden years, Raul Gonzalez has gone from promising youngster to Real Madrid's joint top scorer of all time. Having played alongside and outlasted the likes of Zinedine Zidane, Ronaldo, Luis Figo and Roberto Carlos at the Bernabeu, the No 7's status as a Los Merengues' legend is now beyond all doubt.

FIFA.com brings you ten key moments of Raul's Real Madrid career so far.

1. 05/11/1994
One week after making his debut for Los Blancos in a defeat against Real Zaragoza, Raul scores his first Madrid goal in a 4-2 derby win over capital rivals Atletico - the club in whose youth system he started out.

2. 20/05/1998
This date will go down in Real Madrid history as the day the club ended a 32-year wait for another European Champions Clubs' Cup/UEFA Champions League title. Raul is part of the Madrid team that beats Juventus 1-0 in Amsterdam.

3. 01/12/1998
With his side being held 1-1 in the final of the Toyota/Intercontinental Cup against Vasco da Gama of Brazil, Raul evades two defenders and the Vasco goalkeeper to score the goal that clinches the trophy.

4. 13/10/1999
A moment that will live long in the collective memory of Los Blancos' fans: Raul motioning the Barcelona faithful into silence after scoring a late equaliser in the Camp Nou.

5. 1998/99
Despite the club missing out on that season's Liga title, Raul is crowned the Spanish top-flight's leading scorer, the Pichichi, for the first time. He would repeat the feat two seasons later.

6. 24/05/2000
Paris is the setting for a historic Champions League final between two Spanish clubs: Real Madrid and Valencia. Raul it is who scores Madrid's final goal in the 3-0 success that brought Los Merengues' eighth triumph in the elite competition.

7. 15/02/2002
Once more, Real Madrid were back in the Champions League final - this time against Bayer Leverkusen. Raul opens the scoring early on in a 2-1 Madrid win sealed by Zinedine Zidane's superb volley on the stroke of half-time, a goal that brought the club's ninth European Cup success.

8. 17/06/2007
Madrid, led by captain Raul, win the league title to put an end to a three-year major trophy drought.

9. 10/12/2008

Raul increases his already-record UEFA Champions League tally with two goals against Zenit St Petersburg and in doing so overtakes Filippo Inzaghi as the all-time top scorer in UEFA club competitions.

10. 31/01/2009
Raul scores the opening goal in a 2-0 win at Numancia to join Alfredo Di Stefano as Madrid's all-time top scorer in competitive matches. Just weeks before the forward had added his name to the exclusive '500 Club' by making his 500th Liga appearance.
