Spartak Moscow missed the chance to climb into the top three in the Russian Premier League after slipping to a surprise 1-0 defeat at home to Ural.
Vladimir Khozin's 21st-minute goal proved enough to secure the points for Ural, who pull four points clear of the bottom four as a result. Defeat leaves Spartak fifth in the table and they will slip out of the European places if Krasnodar beat Rostov on Sunday.
Tomsk remain in the relegation play-off spots following a 2-0 defeat at Kuban Krasnodar in Friday's other match. Igor Armas opened the scoring after 66 minutes, with Ivelin Popov adding another five minutes from time to move Kuban up to ninth in the standings.
