Lokomotiv Moscow increased their lead at the top of the Russian Premier League to three points but may rue not making a breakthrough in their goalless draw at Amkar Perm.

Leonid Kuchuk's men had the chance to move five points clear at the top of the standings after closest challengers Zenit St. Petersburg were beaten 1-0 by CSKA Moscow on Saturday, but drew a blank against Amkar.

First-half goals from Marko Devic and Dmitri Torbinsky set Rubin Kazan on the path to a 3-1 home win over Volga Nizhny Novgorod.

Devic opened the scoring after 14 minutes and Torbinsky doubled Kazan's lead just before the interval before Pavel Mogilevets' goal in the 79th minute sealed victory, which meant Artur Sarkisov's effort immediately afterwards counted for very little.
