Zenit St. Petersburg failed in their bid to return to the top of the Russian Premier League table as they slipped to a 1-0 defeat at CSKA Moscow.

Georgi Milanov's goal after 32 minutes separated the two sides, leaving Zenit two points behind leaders Lokomotiv Moscow and having played a game more.

Dinamo Moscow are now just two points off the top two thanks to a 1-1 draw at Kuban Krasnodar.

Kevin Kuranyi gave Dinamo the lead after 43 minutes but Kuban pulled level in the 74th minute through Ivelin Popov.

Rostov were 2-0 winners at Krylya Sovetov, courtesy of goals from Kanga Guelor (35) and Vitaliy Dyakov (70).
