FC Moscow claimed top spot in the Premier Liga today with a 2-0 win at home to city rivals CSKA. Alexander Samedov opened the scoring after just four minutes and a second goal from Branislav Krunic shortly after the restart sealed the points.
The win moves FC Moscow two points clear of Rubin Kazan, who lost to Rostov yesterday, while CSKA are now four points behind the leaders.
Elsewhere, Zenit St Petersburg also lost ground on the table-toppers with a 2-2 draw at Spartak Nalchik.
Two goals from Kazbek Geteriev had put Nalchik ahead after Igor Semshov's 32nd-minute opener, but Aleksandr Aniukov levelled matters for Zenit midway through the second half.
In other matches, goals from Luiz Zelao and Dmitri Losokov earned Saturn Moscow a 2-0 derby win over Lokomotiv.
And Amkar Perm claimed their first away victory of the season with a 2-1 result at Tomsk. Georgi Peev and Predrag Sikimic scored for the winners after Sergey Kornilenko had netted the opener for Tomsk.
