Porto secured third place in the Portuguese Liga and a berth in next season's UEFA Champions League qualifiers by beating Rio Ave 3-0.

It took an hour for the home side to make the breakthrough, but Jackson Martinez's penalty eventually opened the gates with further goals from Hector Herrera and Danilo wrapping up the win. The result lifts Porto eight points clear of fourth-placed Estoril with only two matches remaining.

Vitoria Setubal's mid-table contest with Braga ended in a 1-1 draw. Antonio Eder fired Braga in front after just 12 minutes but the dismissal of goalkeeper Eduardo allowed Vitoria a route back into the match, although they could not fashion an equaliser until ten minutes from time with Pedro Tiba the man on target.
