Benfica go top, Porto maintain pressure

Rodrigo Moreno scored a first-half double as Benfica moved to the top of the Liga standings on Sunday night.

The 22-year-old striker was on target in the 18th and 35th minutes as his side defeated Maritimo 2-0.

Porto kept up the pressure on second-placed Sporting Lisbon as they claimed a 3-0 win over Vitoria Setubal.

Jackson Martinez (11), Silvestre Varela (35) and Carlos Eduardo (87) were the goalscorers for Porto, as they moved one point behind Sporting and three adrift of Benfica.

Ferreira Djavan scored a last-minute winner for Academica as they beat Gil Vicente 1-0 while Luis Gustavo also scored in the 90th minute for Rio Ave as they beat Belenenses 1-0.

Meanwhile, Nuno Andre Coelho's 15th-minute opener for Braga was cancelled out in the 72nd minute by Bebe's brilliant strike, as the Archbishops were held to a 1-1 draw at home to Pacos Ferreira.
