Pacos consolidate third

Pacos Ferreira consolidated third spot in the Portuguese Liga by twice coming from behind to draw 2-2 at Guimaraes on Sunday.

Luiz Carlos and substitute Rui Caetano were the men on target for Pacos, cancelling out respective strikes from Rodrigues and Amido Balde.

Bruno Braga and Alberto Rodriguez scored second-half goals as Rio Ave defeated Beira Mar 2-1, overturning Yazalde's first-half opener for the basement boys.

The draw lifted Pacos four points clear of fourth-placed Braga, who lost 2-1 at Estoril on Friday night.

Elsewhere, Marinho's 18th-minute goal proved decisive as Academica overcame second-bottom Moreirense 1-0.

Marcos Rojo grabbed the winner four minutes from time as Sporting Lisbon edged Nacional 2-1.

Diego Capel had given Sporting an early lead only for Daniel Candeia to equaliser in the 74th minute. Nacional's woes were compounded by the late dismissal of Bruno Moreira.

Hugo Vieira and Cesar Peixoto scored in either half - the latter in the early stages of the second half from the penalty spot following the dismissal of Vasco Fernandes as Gil Vicente beat fellow strugglers Olhanense 2-0.
