Sendai take summit after Sanfrecce draw

Vegalta Sendai leapfrogged Sanfrecce Hiroshima to return to the top of the J.League after coming from behind in a 2-1 home victory over Kawasaki Frontale.

Kohei Noborizato put the visitors ahead in the 32nd minute, but Naoya Tamura headed home from close range in the 56th minute to equalise before midfielder Ryang Yonggi netted a direct free-kick in the 63rd minute.

Meanwhile, league top scorer Hisato Sato gave Sanfrecce a 1-0 lead in the 20th minute, but it was cancelled out by Yuichi Komano as they drew 1-1 at Jubilo Iwata.

The results left Vegalta top of the table on 45 points, ahead of Sanfrecce on 44 points, Urawa Red Diamonds on 42 points and Jubilo, Sagan Tosu and Nagoya Grampus all on 38 points.

Urawa went 1-0 up through Genki Haraguchi's early goal but Keigo Higashi's equaliser in first-half stoppage time gave Omiya Ardija a point.

Sagan thrashed struggling Gamba Osaka 4-1, with Yohei Toyoda scoring twice, while Keiji Tamada scored the only goal to give Nagoya a 1-0 win over Kashiwa Reysol.

Brazilian striker Lucas scored a brace as FC Tokyo beat Yokohama F Marinos 3-1, while Kashima Antlers defeated Vissel Kobe 1-0 thanks to Yuya Osako's goal in the 23rd minute.

Cerezo Osaka saw off Albirex Niigata 1-0 away and Shimizu S-Pulse defeated bottom-placed Consadole Sapporo 2-0.
