Vegalta Sendai continued their impressive start to the season with a 4-0 victory over FC Tokyo which takes them five points clear at the top of the J. League.

Shingo Akamine scored the opener on the stroke of half-time, with Kunimitsu Sekiguchi, Yoshiaki Ota and Jiro Kamata adding second-half strikes.

Vegalta remain the only unbeaten team in the league and have now put breathing space between themselves and Nagoya Grampus, who were held to a 1-1 draw at Sanfrecce Hiroshima. Hiroki Yamada's 36th-minute effort earned Jubilo Iwata a 1-0 victory at home to Yokohama F Marinos, a result which lifts them into third place.

Consadole Sapporo continue to prop up the standings after a 3-2 loss to Kawasaki Frontale. The home side were two goals ahead thanks to Shunsuke Maeda and Jumpei Takaki, but Kawasaki hit back in the second half through Kengo Nakamura and Renato before Koji Yamase's strike two minutes from time settled the contest.

Goals from Sergio Dutra, Shinzo Koroki and Yasushi Endoh earned Kashima Antlers a 3-2 win at home to Cerezo Osaka, who had led through Kim Bo-Kyung's first-half double. Tozin's goal ten minutes from time sealed a 1-0 victory for Sagan Tosu over Albirex Niigata.

Vissel Kobe beat Kashiwa Reysol 3-1 with efforts from Takuya Nozawa, Keijiro Ogawa and Yuzo Tashiro. Kashiwa's reply came from Masakatsu Sawa. Cho Young Cheol and Rafael Marques were on the scoresheet as Omiya Ardija overcame Urawa Red Diamonds 2-0.
