Brazilian striker Rafinha scored an equaliser as J.League leaders Gamba Osaka held on to their lead in the standings with a 1-1 draw against Yokohama F Marinos.
Yokohama took the lead in the 20th minute when Ariajasuru Hasegawa returned the ball off a straight pass from Hiroyuki Taniguchi to set up Shingo Hyodo's goal into the top right corner.
But Rafinha, who joined Gamba at the end of July, scored his ninth goal since then with a header from a Hiroki Fujiharu cross in the 58th minute.
Gamba have now 54 points, only one ahead of Kashiwa Reysol, who overwhelmed Vissel Kobe 4-0 yesterday. They are followed by Yokohama on 51 points, defending champions Nagoya Grampus on 50, Vegalta Sendai on 41 and Kashima Antlers with 40.
Japan international defender Marcus Tulio Tanaka nodded home an equaliser as Nagoya drew with seven-time former champions Kashima 1-1, cancelling out Chikashi Masuda's goal. Cerezo Osaka were held to a goalless draw by Omiya Ardija.
