Roma captain Francesco Totti is nearing a return from a hamstring injury. The veteran striker has been out of action since 21 October with a muscular problem to his right leg.
A statement from Roma read: "Francesco Totti had a check-up with Professor Mariani and test results showed the player's condition has improved and, as of tomorrow (Tuesday), he will begin a technical and fitness program aimed at gradually bringing him back into the squad."
The former Italy international, who scored three goals in eight league appearances for I Giallorossi before his injury, could return to action for Roma's game at AC Milan on 16 December.
Roma have drawn their last four league games and lie second in Serie A, three points behind leaders Juventus. They host Fiorentina on Sunday and end the year against Catania on 22 December.
