Walter Mazzarri insists Napoli don't feel inferior to anyone any more as his team prepare to face AC Milan at the San Siro tomorrow. Napoli's best results this season have come against the bigger teams while they have often flattered to deceive against the minnows.
They beat Milan 3-1 earlier in the season before also defeating Inter Milan and Manchester City and Mazzarri believes his side know they can match anyone. "We've grown in terms of character and we don't have any more fear or reverence," he said.
"I hope I won't be proved wrong tomorrow, of course, however we'll need a performance of great character against a team who often win at the gallop against teams who have made life difficult for us. I'm intrigued to see how we tackle this game, we must not start with the hand-brake on as we did in the first encounter."
While Milan are just a point behind leaders Juventus, Napoli are down in seventh having suffered from too many draws this season. And yet they are the only two sides still left in all three competitions - league, Cup and UEFA Champions League.
"Us and Milan are the only two teams engaged on three fronts, but the difference is they're more used to it," said Mazzarri. "We want to consolidate at a certain level, we'll try to give our best in every match and I haven't given up hope of making up some ground in the table."
